Photo description:

Henna is a colorful and herbal substance for hair.
In some parts of Iran, such as Hormozgan Province, it is used for painting hands or faces of girls and women. Henna is also used in abundance in celebrations of the Iranian people, such as weddings, and for other purposes in some cities and villages.
Mazari (Henna Grinding), which is more than 700 years old, is a hallmark of the old people of Yazd province in Iran. It still has not been forgotten and you can smell the Henna and other spices or
see its color in the narrow streets of Yazd. This old art, even after 700 years, has its own line of shops in Yazd.
When Yazdi merchants started their business with India, Pakistan and the Persian Gulf countries, Mazari grew to a great extent because the businessmen of Yazd took it on them to those countries.
This recognition and fame led to Mazari became one of the main occupations of the people in Yazd province. Although the original Henna leaves were brought to Yazd from other provinces of Iran, it was ground here. As the processing and packaging of Henna was done in Yazd, “Yazd Henna” gained a worldwide reputation and is still sought in the Persian Gulf countries and a lot of customers are
looking for “Yazd Henna”.
